Stian Lundberg
EPLEROSE
Eplerose is Lundberg’s second album.
Release: 14. januar 2022
In 2020, Stian Lundberg released his first record, Åkermåne. Now the sequel is finally ready, Eplerose. It is a jazz rock album filled with great soundscapes and hefty rhythms where the musicians' common interest in jazz and improvisation connects the music in a wonderful interplay.
Since 2001, Stian Lundberg has been an important and an active musician in Norway's music scene. He has been involved as both a studio musician and theater musician, but has perhaps first and foremost been noticed as a touring musician at Norway’s large and small festivals and stages with bands such as Johndoe, The South, Moving Oos, Ida Jenshus, Rasmus og verdens beste band, Charlie Rackstead & the Stickelsbergen Ramblers, Klaus Sonstad and Balkan Brasserie.
Musically, I have never locked myself in or defined myself to a particular genre, even though I have dived into certain styles in rock and jazz. For the first time in January 2020, I released an album in my own name, after appearing on more than 70 releases. My first solo album "Åkermåne'' received a lot of coverage in Trondheim's leading newspaper Adresseavisen, and very positive feedback from the music community in Norway. I look forward to showing the sequel that takes my music to new places. It’s my attempt to express myself musically and it sounds a bit like quasi-ambient contemporary music, jazz and a kind of rock. The music revolves around organic rhythm and clear melodies - tried to steer towards a modern soundscape, but with a clear nod in the direction to our musical heroes in the past ”- Stian Lundberg
